I remember the river where I use to sit
The smell of the water so soft and free
the tree's seemed to talk to just me.
I remember the river where I use to walk
So softly the doves spoke in their morning talk.
It all seems so far, yet so close by me
I remember the fun the kids and I had
as we walked to the river where we once could stand.
I remember the love my heart showed there
the river where we once swam
the river where we once walked
its all gone now, so far away
But I will remember the river deep in my heart
the love it showed while I stood there
thank you Lord for the time you gave
with the river so far now but there still to stay.

I dedicated this to the Ausable River in Grayling Michigan.
My heart loves it there, my children and I always swam there
and played in the river,
its hard leaving it after 11 years,
I grew them up walking there
in the summer months picnicing and playing, I pray one day I can return.
