The Day Of The Lord
Read:
2 Peter 3:1-15 Have you ever had a conversation with someone about Christ's second coming?
In 2 Peter 3:3-4 It says scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this, 'coming' he promised? Every since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." So, now in v.5 it says they deliberately forgot that long ago by God's Word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
In v.6 by these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. I have had conversations with several people about Christ's second coming. Oh, Yes. Scoffers will say "Where is this "coming"? You can tell the differance when speaking to the unsaved and the saved.
You can tell the differance in the actions when speaking on this subject. Christians get excited and give their views and opinions, fellowship starts. I have had the unsaved scoff at the subject, and say well, I won't know it, I'll be dead when that happens, or they'll say yeah, I've been hearing this all my life, "Where is this coming"?
I got news for them, even the dead will know when Christ returns. In Matthew 24:38-39 It says, for in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
We will see scoffers, we will hear them scoff, but we will have these words always on our lips, v.8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day, v.9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Prayer: Father In Heaven; As we go about our daily living, help us not to become lazy and complacent because Christ hasn't come yet, instead, help us to live in eager expectation of his coming,

True pleasure's come when they finally see The light of Jesus Shining in you and me.
